Quick, think of a word, the weirdest word you know. You know what I’m talking about, it’s that word that makes less and less sense the more times you say it out loud.

Now post it in a comment!

Here is 2 to get you started:
-daffodil
-platypus

Now go for it!

Check it. Came across this blog this morning. Apparently this guy is not exactly a fan of the HPC Experience? Take a look for yourself. What’s your opinion? Do you agree with him? Do you think it’s a little interesting that he works with “church branding”? Let’s hear it!

Ok, normally I wouldn’t make a post about this, but it’s just so darn cool that it happened like this, you just have to hear about it :)

So here is the story…

December 1st, 2006… A young LSU freshman decides that he is going to document life, share his thoughts, and give himself a reason to sit down and write about life. This young man was none other than yours truly, and you might have guessed, the fruits of that decision became what you now know as Josh-Bob.com. You can see that first post here. December 1st is tomorrow. In other words, today is the 365th day of my blogging life.

This is where it gets cool… Today, as you see in the picture below, as of this morning I have broken the 20,000 hits mark on my blog. The only thing greater than my joy to still be here after a year, is my joy that I haven’t faded into irrelevancy over this time.

I’d like to thank Dan O. and JP, you guys make me strive to keep the quality level up. Also, Greg and Dave for always being there to explain things that I don’t comprehend, you guys make it happen.

I guess it’s just my nature to blog? I had to show off a little of God’s beauty that I’m chilling in this weekend. Loving it.

Doesn’t really have much to do with the holiday, I was just curious…
When you put your shoes on, are you a Sock-Sock-Shoe-Shoe kind of person? Or are you of the Sock-Shoe-Sock-Shoe variety?
I hope you all have an amazing Thanksgiving! Show your families and loved ones how much you care, you never know when someone needs to hear it!

In the middle of a service, but right now there is no translator, so I’m ok ;)

First of all, Rob, as crazy as it is, there are french fries at almost every meal (they are frequent), and they are some of the best french fries I’ve ever tasted. Wild, I know.

Working on being able to post on the Italy Team Blog, sorry about that delay. But I’ll be on mine, so that’ll have to do for now. Apparently, Sicily is not a place that has readily accepted the world wide web.

Well earlier this afternoon we packed up our stuff, and hopped on the bus to head 2 hours across Sicily to the town of Catania, to our next place we will be working. That is the church I’m in right now. I gotta tell ya, it was not easy saying goodbye to all of the friends that we made. The fact that we grew so close while learning a new language is just God.

Please continue to pray for effectiveness and wisdom, the situations we are thrown into are always very interesting ;)

Pictures coming soon I hope…

Ciao a presto!
(Goodbye, till next time!)

I should probably wait until I have more time to ponder this and make it more poetic and such, but I’ve just got to share it.
It seems like every new opportunity to travel and meet new people brings a new method for God to display not only his love for us, but His willingness to saturate our lives with it if we will walk in it. Follow me here…
We could have had many reactions to arriving in Sicily, from frustration to apathy, it was all possible and very understandable. But we chose to simply walk in the only love we knew… “ciao”, and a smile. Since my first double-kiss in the homeland, God has continued to pour favor and compassion, into us and the people we are meeting.
You would be absolutely amazed if you had just sat in the conversation Tabitha, Mark Bordelon, and myself just sat in at lunch. To start with zero knowledge and be able to communicate with almost anyone in the building is incredible! We talk about everything from music to school. Mark and I even taught them how to “TIGER BAIT!”
All this to say that God will let you do the seemingly impossible if you will simply choose to walk in His love and share it with everyone around you.
Thank you again for your prayers, they are much appreciated!

God is really moving in some unbelievable ways here… Tyler Cheramie and myself were able to pray with about 5 guys within a 30 minute period. We’ve seen people breakdown, beg for prayer, accept Christ, and we’ve also had cursing and hatred thrown around. And yet, I’ve never felt more compassion than I do now. The exciting thing about it is that even though the growth has come during this trip, it’s not something that is temporary. I pray that God only continues to grow inside of me an understanding of the value of one of his kids. I want my heart to break for what breaks my Father’s heart. I want to go beyond charity, this is not an option. This is justice. It is what we are called to do.

I’m definitely posting again tonight. We have a late night outreach later, and we’re expecting some awesome stuff. Pray!

Well it’s taken forever to find stable internet, and just when we found some, the server went down. I’m sure there is some place where we’ll find internet later, but until then, the only posting I’ll be doing is from my phone. So please, pardon the errors.

Well to start off, yesterday we split up into 2 groups to work with the Dreamcenter staff. The group I was with went down to what they call “Skid Row”. It’s basically the downtown area where a large portion of the homeless population spends their time. HPC has been doing homeless outreaches for a little while now but even the guys who have done it for a while realized that it is a very different kind of homelessness. An entirely different level really. We’ve seen things that you don’t expect in 3rd world countries, and yet they happen everyday just a few blocks away from the Sunset strip. I’ll have to write alot more about this when I find a real keyboard.

The second group went to a part of the community that has a spanish majority. With only a few people in the group actually speaking spanish, this proved to stretch them quite a bit, but they will all tell you that they were really touched by these people’s hearts and willingness to try to understand simply because we were reaching out to them. On their way back to the vehichles they passed by a building with a sign that read “Church of Satan”. I don’t know about you, but that shocked me. You hear about things like this, but you certainly wouldn’t find something like that in downtown Baton Rouge.

It has already been an amazing trip so far, and we still have alot to go. Please keep praying that God would soften the hearts of people we come in contact with, and that we would be fully aware of the amazing things God is doing all around us.
